Hi I'm Chris and I'm passionate about helping people navigate the complexities of financial planning to build a secure financial future. I tailor advice to the specifics of the individual and communicate in a way that is easily understood so clients can have full confidence in the advice I provide.

As a business owner since 2005 I’ve had my ups and downs and certainly made some mistakes- financial and otherwise- along the way. My neglect of my own personal finances in my younger years is one of the reasons I got into Financial Services having built and sold a business in an unrelated industry. Thereafter I needed a new challenge and wanted to help others by sharing my own knowledge and experience in business and finance. Financial advice, or financial planning, seemed a good fit and I joined St James’s Place (SJP) in 2018 and incorporated Cowan Financial Consultants under the SJP banner in 2022.

I enjoy meeting other business owners, learning about them and their business, and helping them and their families with their finances. I can honestly say I deliver an exceptional level of client service and I am proud that my clients recommend me and my work.

Most of my time with clients is spent listening so that I can understand them and what it is they want to achieve. I build long lasting relationships with clients and help them adapt as circumstances, needs, and aims evolve. For me great service means getting the basics right every time. Being open, honest, transparent, and available. Keeping clients informed and being true to my word.
